so yeah.. today was great! went to okunoin today... the big, world heritage site graveyard.. and did it blow my mind or what?! it was great! even thou the trainride cost my money and took for like forever, i ended up loving the place, and freezing to bits... freggin cold up the bloody mountain Kooya... 800 m above sea level or sumthing, had to ride a supercool mountaintrain to get there! u know, the ones who is built diagonal, with steps in them! skansen got a light version of them i think...
but other than that, i`v in total spent about 5 hours on freggin trains today... first 3 hours i slept like a baby, but then i actually went and read some in my book that took me so much pain to find.. nice one to! Bag of Bones by S.King, one fav that u can find in any country, like that... first 100 pages done, i`m good and psyched to finish it, gonna have a loads of time to do that tomrow when i try getting to the first of the 88 temples.. *looking forward to it SO much* but that also seems to be a journey that will take forever... about 3 hours from namba (luckily i can get there pretty quick) and the trainride seems to take the same amount of foreverness... have to think on that nut a bit then i guess... what to do and such...
so yeah, okunoin!
the best freggin place ever! i`m so sad i can`t show u any pic`s at the moment, because they all turned out so freggin nice! had the best possible weather as well. very sunny, and that keept shining throu the big trea crowns and just casting an amazing feeling over the whole place! made some nice photos for me to. so i`m happy! what else, meet this nice couple, that had the traditional robes of a pilgrim (actually saw a lot of them, but these were the only ones i spoke to). without knowing much jap we had an interesting conversation. i couldn`t figure out why they did the pilgrimage, but i know where they are from, what they have been so far, where the journy is going to take them and that they go by car.. married couple of about 55 i would say. we had a bit of tea and walked together for a bit. nice.
saw the temple of a thousand lanterns, but unfortunaly no photos allowed, so i can't show u anything, but it was mindblowing to say at least!
but then i also have some more wonderful news for ya! i bought and ate tonkatsu udon, on of the best things japan have to offer, food wise anyhow.. and i bought the coolest thing ever! a prayer bead band! SO COOL! i love it! but wierdly enough it got to many beads... i bought it at one of the biggest get togethers for buddism, and it got the wrong no of beads? its supposed to be 108, i got 114... wel, i'm not a praying anything, but still it's pretty awsome... like that i've been thinking of the next time i go to rome, if i ever get back there for the vatican, i will buy me a rosary..
just because im so freggin cool!
yeah.. my day have been pretty much, and im hungry and tierd at the moment, so i will end this soon, chatt a bit more with sambon and when i get REAL tierd in a few moments i will brush my teeth and go to bed. so.. yeah..
